The third generation reprise of the Maruti Suzuki Wagon R is set to fire in India on the 23rd of January 2019. Along with its anticipated launch, the Indo-Japanese automaker officially announced the new alterations of the hatchback on its official website. At a token amount of Rs 11000, the bookings for the Big New Wagon R 2019 have started. The new version of the hatchback is coming with a full makeover in aspects of interior and exterior both.
Before its official launch, few of its pictures have been leaked out showing the details of the design. It has already been launched in Japanese market but the India-spec model is completely different from the Japanese model.
NEW MARUTI WAGON R 2019 PRICES IN INDIA
The 2019 Wagon R hatchback, set for a generation change will for sure have a price more than the outgoing model. As of now, the Maruti Wagon R retails from Rs 4.1 lakh to Rs 5.31 lakh. The next generation would have more features, a new design, and a more modern platform. Therefore, the price would be premium over the current version.
The interior is said to be better in aspects of fit, finish, and comfort. Engine setup will remain unchanged. The new version is estimated to be priced approximately between Rs 4.50 lakh for the base variant and Rs 6.00 lakh for the top model.
NEW MARUTI WAGON R 2019 SPECIFICATIONS
There would not be any changes under the hood in the India-spec 2019 Maruti Wagon R. For the first time in India, the Maruti Wagon R would retail with an option of two engines. Maruti Suzuki has assured that the new Wagon R reprise of this compact hatchback, for its base three versions will continue with the current 1.0-liter, 3-cylinder k-Series engine. On the contrary, its middle and top variants would be given its 1.2-liter, 4-cylinder K-series petrol engine.
The hatchback would continue using the 1.0-liter K-Series petrol engine which is also used in the Celerio and the Alto K10. Akin to the current generation, the new Maruti Wagon R would also come with the usual 5-speed gearbox. This gasoline unit gives out a maximum power output of 67 bhp at 6,200 rpm and a peak torque of 91Nm at 3,500 rpm. It would also be offered with CNG and LPG fuel options.
NEW MARUTI WAGON R 2019 MILEAGE
If the current model is compared from the current generation, the new Maruti Wagon R would be high on fuel economy. The maker of the car might have calibrated the gasoline motor to achieve better fuel economy. Although the current version returns a mileage of 20.51kmpl, the new one is predicted to deliver around 22kmpl.
